Using the Seed Library
Choosing Seeds
|
*COVID-19 Update: Please note that procedures & locations may vary during this time.*
Visit any El Paso Public Library location in person to find out what seeds are available to check out. Our initial seed collection was purchased with grant funds. The future of the seed collection will depend on donations, growing success, and seasonal changes. Seeds are labeled by their name and how difficult it is to save seeds, rather than how difficult it is to grow them. If you’re a beginner gardener, don’t worry about saving seeds right now. Select seeds that you’re interested in growing, and have fun learning how to garden.
Seed saving can come later! |
Borrowing Seeds |
All you need is a current El Paso Public Library card to begin checking out seeds. If for any reason you are unable to obtain a library card, we ask that you fill out a membership form.
Up to 5 seed packets can be checked out each season. The packets contain enough seeds to grow at least five to ten plants. If you don’t use all of the seeds, save them for next year. There is no need to return the seeds. |
